Conesus Lake Ring of Fire 2018

The Conesus Lake Ring of Fire [ROF] celebration has a long and colorful history. Originally an old Seneca Indian tradition, they would gather around fires around the lake to celebrate its beauty and abundance of the lake.

Sponsored by The Conesus Lake Association, every 3rd of July residents light provided flares at exactly 10:00 pm along the entire shoreline of the Lake, creating a RING OF FIRE. It has been estimated that about 15,000 flares are used for the celebration. The night is highlighted by fireworks displays up and down Conesus Lake.
